Le Di’vin, Wine Bar, Edinburgh

Le Di'vin

Le Di'vin

Located in the former Polish Church next door to La P’tite Folie Le Di’vin is a favourite of mine.  Despite the vast room, there is a cosy feel to the space and the natural light flooding through roof top windows is appreciated along with the mix of contemporary and traditional decor.

But really, it’s the wine selection that does the talking here.  There is a short, quick menu to check out for faster decisions, or you can wade through the pages of the wines on offer if you have the time! Fabulous selection is on offer by the glass.

Planchette

Planchette

We stopped for a brief lunch and I thoroughly enjoyed the Planchette de Charcuterie (£11) – a mix of terrine, a delicious selection of salami, ham and cured meat and a basket of bread to munch it with.  All of this was washed down with a lovely medium dry German Riesling.  The Kiwi opted for Les Tartine – Rib of Beef (£8.95) which was a good plate of food with roasted peppers and hit the spot.

I love the space and the atmosphere here, there is music playing in the background which is enough to contribute to the atmosphere but doesn’t take away from your company and interfere with conversations.  The room has enough nooks and crannies to provide a sense of intimacy, the dark decor balanced by the natural light flooding in from above.  A great venue with great wines and lovely food!
