Skyline Walkway, Wellington

Since moving to the Northern Wellington suburb we have been awaiting the chance (weather) to head up the hills and check out some more of Wellington’s walkways.  Tonight, with the warm evening beckoning us outdoors, we headed up the Bell’s Track to where it joins with the Skyline Track.

After a steep walk up through bush and gorse, which reminded me of walking up Salisbury Crags in Edinburgh, quickly brings you up to great view points. WOW, it was worth it.  A beautiful, calm, sunny evening gave us lovely views across the Cook Strait to the Marlborough Sounds and vibrant greens of the hills and cool blue of sea and sky.

A great introduction to this walkway, we can’t wait to visit again and explore it more!
