Picnic and music
Wellington City Council arranges a Summer City Festival and part of the many events arranged are free concerts held in the Botanical Gardens sound shell. A variety of musical tastes are satisfied each night in January (from 10th January), depending on the weather!
Keen music lovers get to the Botanical Gardens around 6pm with picnic, blanket and get settle themselves for the night ahead. Even if the music isn’t to your taste there is a great atmosphere and the lighting effects, bubble machine and lovely mirror ball tree can keep you amused!
