La Sureña Hosteria, (San Carlos de) Bariloche, Patagonia, Argentina – review

La Sureña is centrally located on San Martin 432 making it easy to get your way around Bariloche.  I was happy to see that our room didn’t face on to the front of the building as San Martin is a very busy street, but just off the dining room and behind the kitchen (housing the noisest boiler!) it did mean it wasn’t the most quiet of rooms.

The room was clean, pleasant and comfortable.  It appears to have been painted since the brochure and web site were set up so the dark wood is now painted a light colour, which makes the room seem more contemporary.  The bathroom was a bit jaded, the loo seat needing replaced as the veneer is chipped and through to the woodchip below which is not pleasant, and the brownest bathroom I have ever come across!

Breakfast is fine, you can have boiled eggs, the usual meat and cheese, cereals and toast as well as the obligatory medialunas.

Brownest bathroom!

We were told there was a special promotion price, so paid $140 a night (roughly £26 a night for two of us!) which was great value for money.
