Gibbston Valley Winery, Queenstown

On my first visit to the South Island a few years ago the Kiwi and I had a memorable lunch at Gibbston Valley and had no hesitation in recommending we visit again for lunch with friends visiting from the UK.

Seated in the vast, sunny courtyard it took a while to decide what we would choose from the atypical lunch menu, and opted to order a number of dishes to share, including a platter.

Good choice! From potato salad to Mediterranean dips with bread, as well as the platter, we all ate well enjoying every delicious bite particularly intrigued by the pickled cherries and pickled walnuts!  Along with a pleasant courtyard, friendly staff and, of course, lovely wine this lunch was again a winner.
