South Africa – Plumwood Inn, Franschhoek

Once we found Plumwood Inn we were shown around the property, which actually consists of two houses separated by garden and two swimming pools, and found lovely, homely, pleasant accommodation.
Our room was located in the first, larger house upstairs and it had a lovely terrace overlooking the valley and a fabulous, contemporary bathroom with huge double-ended bath, large shower and double sinks. The room was decorated tastefully and was very comfortable and spotless.
There are two lounges for use, and the dining area also houses the “guest kitchen” which has honesty bar and tea, coffee etc for guests to use which was a lovely facility popular in South African accommodation.
Roel and Lucienne are very friendly, and each morning Roel would have a good chat with us over the lovely, fresh breakfast (fabulous scrambled eggs!) about our plans for the day and what we did the day before. The Dutch couple have a real love of the area and that shows.
