France – Mas Vacquieres, Languedoc

After getting a little lost along the way, we eventually found Thomas and Miriam’s gorgeous b&b, Mas Vac. We were given a tour of the house, which incorporates fabulous outdoor areas consisting of stunning swimming pool located in an old part of the house, lawns and a very comfortable lounge area, along with pleasant terrace where breakfast is served.
Your hosts are very efficient – Miriam astounded us daily with managing to clean our room while we were at breakfast, although sometimes I felt she got a bit carried away as personal items would be tidied away if you left them out and around the room/bathroom! But Miriam has the place sooo clean, it is immaculate!

Thomas is very helpful with ideas of places to go and local knowledge.
We had booked a room with a private terrace, thinking this would be ideal for our chilled out evenings with a bottle of wine, but we were put in a different room which had a small balcony. Although the room was lovely we missed having our own outdoor space close to our room – they had upgraded us as a nicer room was available and this is their standard procedure which is lovely, but I was a little disappointed we didn’t have the terrace! That said, there is plenty of outdoor space to be shared with guests.
Only real downside to this stunning property is that it’s out in the sticks so eateries are really a journey away, although we did eat at the local restaurant which was a good 15 mins walk away in the pitch dark (no street lights).
